Expat Animator

Hey, it’s Patrick! Welcome to my “Expat Animator” series, where I try and help beginners, hobbyists, and independent animators create 2D animations.

I have been an independent animator for over 20 years. Recently, I’ve been making animation and drawing tutorials teaching the skills I learned animating my own projects. I am a big proponent of working on personal projects. My own personal projects are the animated Web series “Traveling Gringos” and the animated short film (and later graphic novel) “TREP“.

I have a degree in graphic design and have worked in the fields of animation, illustration, video editing, print publishing, TV graphics, film titles, and web design. Oh, and I’m also an ex-pat from California now living in Costa Rica with my wife and three dogs.
